The G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary RECRYSTALLIZED series is a limited edition model that celebrates its 40th anniversary since its birth in 1983. The DW-5040PG reinvented the first generation of G-SHOCK, has been recrystallized and deep hardened on the screwback case, buckle and free ring. The back cover has a black IP, a buckle and a gold IP coating on the free ring with a star mark that expresses "40". Biomass plastic is used on the bezel and band to reduce environmental impact. In addition, the dial features the words "PROJECT TEAM "Tough" which is the name of the first generation G-SHOCK development team. The back cover is designed with the G-SHOCK25th, 30th, and 35th logo engraved on the 40th anniversary logo by Eric Haze, and the bottom left button is engraved with a star mark. Shock resistant construction. Water resistant to 20 ATM.
